Climate negotiations in Warsaw - Side Event of the Republic of Slovenia (MFA) and the team GreenLight WorldFlight
In the context of climate negotiations at COP19 conference, where number of side events take place, a team of GreenLight WorldFlight (GLWF) was hosted by the Republic of Slovenia. Mr. Matevž Lenarčič and Dr. Griša Močnik (Aerosol), presented a pioneering project of the flight around the world and a flight over the North Pole with the ultralight Pipistrel company aircraft, with the lowest fuel consumption in its history.

During the flight, the pilot Mr. Lenarčič, was using instruments manufactured in Aerosol, to measure concentrations of Black Carbon in the atmosphere, which contribute to the process of ice melting and climate change process. In this way, the measurements were made at some locations for the first time, respectively (Arctic, Africa, the Atlantic, Pacific) .
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia supports the project, have already been made many presentations in Slovenia (including session of the IPCC Intergovrnmental Panel on Climate Change , Bled 2013) and abroad (among them 3 conference ICAO International Civil Aviation Organisation, 2013).
GLWF Team further seeks for new ventures, such as the flight over the South Pole, where the distance are much longer and the conditions for data acquisition are different from the North pole. Work of GLWF team incorporates cutting-edge knowledge and mutual co-operation and friendship, which is a great deal of cases and the key to the most demanding routes.
